1. What does the average trip cost to Costa Rica?
Dental costs are usually about 25% of the cost of what a U.S. dentist would charge.  Plan on spending approximately $100/day for expenses.  Trips from the U.S. (depending on what city you fly from and what airline you use) are around $500 ROUND TRIP depending on the season.  Lodging can be anywhere from $25 to 200 per day.

2. What is the average cost of dental procedures in participating countries such as Costa Rica?
The savings range can be anywhere from 25-80% of what U.S. Dentists charge.

3. Is it safe to travel to Costa Rica?

Yes, it is the safest country in Central America. Many Americans live in Costa Rica. Check with the U.S. State Department before travel to any country. (see and click on links to this on our site)

4. Who can help me with travel arrangements?
The doctors will arrange for travel, and transportation to and from airport, hotel and doctors office.

5. How do I get my dental records and digital X-Rays?
Your local dentist (where you live) must give you your dental records and x-rays by law! They belong to you.  You need to know exactly what work you need done and your dental records/X-Rays to be able to fill out the online dental form on our website.

6. Why do I need complete dental records for MDT.com?
All medical charts, dental charts, X-Rays, photos of mouth, etc., need to be inputted into our system so that our partner doctors can give you an accurate bid for the work you need done. This is a really important step in the process.  An accurate bid cannot be performed without good digital X-Rays.

7. How long does it take to travel to Costa Rica?
It all depends on where your original departure is from.  From Florida or any southern state that flies to Costa Rica is only a couple of hours to San Jose.

8. What is a free bid?
MDT  will give you a new membership when you complete the profile and survey when registering. Upon filling out the information and following the steps in the membership area you will receive a dental bid free of charge from a doctor in the foreign country you choose that matches your preferences.  (Digital/Jpegs of X-Rays of your teeth are mandatory for your free bid so make sure you obtain your X-Rays from your local dentist).

9. What is a Crown membership?
I f you are not happy with the free bid that you receive or are interested in seeing other bids to make your decision we offer a Crown Membership. For $25.00 U.S. dollars you will receive up to (4) four more bids from dentists within the country that you chose.
 

10. Do I need to know Spanish?

No, Costa Rica is English friendly. Most drivers speak English and are inexpensive.

11.  I need to go now?
Just fill out all information and get free bid. Then contact us in our MDT contact information. We will start now making arrangements.

12. How much time do I need?

It depends on what work you are having completed. A crown typically takes 2 days. An implant may take a week.  Your dentist will schedule your visits.  More than one trip may be necessary.
